Just resently I pick up a recurve bow and decided to give it a try. I have had some experience with a bow but I never really seriously hunted with one before. After my first few days of hunting I decieded that I enjoyed it but I also realized that it is alot harder that I imagened. I had a hard time keeping my bow steady and ended up missing a deer because I wasn't confortable with shooting an unbalanced shot. I came home and did some brain storming on exercises and activities that would help me improve my shooting skills. I came up with exercises for some major muscle groups that will help me with archery. I have been working on my pec's, biceps, triceps, latissimus dorsi (Lower shoulder blade), and my deltoid (shoulder). I also have been practicing unusual shots. I have found that you rarely get the perfect shot with archery. I have been practicing leaning shots, sitting shots, squating shots and have been practicing holding my draw for long periods of time. Working on these skills and doing these exercises have help me become a better hunter. I hope that this will help you. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
